Heather Shawberry

Heather Shaw is an artist based in Lancaster and a member of Assembly Arts. Her work bends space and time through serendipitous distortions, using repeated exposure, material sabotage, and “wonky” scanning to fracture and recombine visual elements. She often begins with art journaling/photography for mental wellbeing, building abstract compositions around core affect (the flow of feeling), then translating them via technology into new visual forms. Heather converts technologies designed for fidelity into collaborators for alternative realities. Heather additionally authored the Technology Integration Model, which outlines how technologies become an extension of the user, contributing to identity expression.
